To all Stewards,
First of all I would like to congratulate all of you that have recently been elected or re-elected to the Steward position. This position in my opinion is the most important position within our Union. You are in the trenches each and every day protecting our rights and making sure that we are treated fairly on the job. On behalf of the entire membership I would like to thank you for stepping up and helping out.
Being a Steward can be challenging and this is why we offer training to our stewards to help give them tools to help when they are faced with a situation. We had set the dates of September 25th and 26th, 2014 to hold the next set of Steward training in Edmonton. Due to unforeseen circumstances these dates will no longer work for our trainers, and we have some wrinkles to iron out that have become evident since your new executive has taken over.
We will be holding Steward training in the months to come. We will inform you of the dates once we have locked them down. If you have expressed interest in the training that we were offering in September then your name will stay on the list and you are first in line for the next training session. If you have not expressed interest to date but are interested then please forward your name and contact information to me at rermet@iamaw99.ca and I will add you to the list.
